“Live Like You Have Cancer”

If Jim McCarthy, Silicon Valley expert on High performance teams was to have a coffee with his 18-year-old self he would tell him to live like he has cancer.

What Jim means by this is that when he battled cancer, it made him live day-by-day and enjoy the moment. It made him live his life doing what he loves and what was meaningful to him.

Don’t think you will live forever. Live a life with a purpose and intensity and strive to live your life by what you are passionate about and what you enjoy doing.

If there is something important you want to do, don’t put it off. Most people make the mistake to wait for conditions to be perfect but the truth is, they will never be perfect.

Don’t end up regretting the things you did not do. Live a life of purpose and meaning, care for other people and live a positive lifestyle. Life is short so go enjoy it.

What advice would you share with your 18-year-old self?

Jim has 20 years experience working in Silicon Valley, helping companies transform dysfunctional teams into peak performance teams to become more focused, innovative and successful.
