“Try to develop a sustainble healthy lifestyle”

If Jim Kirwan, Employee Well Being & Inactivity Expert could offer his 18-year-old self one piece of advice this morning, he would tell him to develop a sustainable healthy lifestyle.

World Health Organisation surveys show Ireland is on course to become the most obese country in Europe by 2030, but Jim offers seven simple tips as to how to stay fit and healthy.

They involve to cut out smoking, control your alcohol intake, eat healthy food and cutting out the junk food, drink up to 2-3 litres of water per day and try to get around eight hours of sleep every night.

Jim also would tell his 18-year-old not to sit around, but to get up and move around. Exercise on average one hour a day to keep youself fit and active.

While he can offer no guarantees, Jim believes that if you do these seven simple steps on a consistent basis then you could live to be 100-years-old.
