Now sit back, plug in those headphones and enjoy because it is time to learn together about personal development, networking, building meaningful relationships and much more.
In this episode, I offer advice to a listener who is not sure how to get the most out of networking and I offer three pieces of advice to help you build more meaningful relationships with your connections.
Networking is truly about connecting with people and building relationships for both you and the other person. You need to go beyond thinking “What’s in it for me?” and go in with the mindset of “How can I help?”
To get the most out of going to networking events, put the following three steps into practice. The first thing is to have a plan. Work out what you can bring to the table and what value you can add to other people.
The second tip is to forget about your personal agenda and lead with generosity. The final thing is to follow up. 90% of networking is in the follow up so it is crucial to keep in contact and prove why it is beneficial to stay in touch.
