Welcome to episode 48 of Ask Mark, where I answer your questions about personal development to help you become the best version of yourself.
From interviewing people from all walks of life on the What I Know Now podcast, I want to share with you what I have learned from my guests by answering any questions you have about personal development, networking and building meaningful relationships. The aim of Ask Mark is to help you achieve your goals sooner and stand on the shoulders of giants.
I would love to hear your questions so please head to wikn.co/askmark where you can either fill out the form or record your question for me. You can also drop me your questions in the comments box or on social media in the links below.
Now sit back, plug in those headphones and enjoy because it is time to learn together about personal development, networking, building meaningful relationships and much more.
In this episode, I offer three pieces of advice listener on how to build trust with the most important people in their network by developing meaningful win-win relationships.
The strongest relationships are built on trust and if you get this right, you will grow as a person, attract long-lasting associates and develop a solid referral base which is what networking is all about.
The first thing you need to do to build trust is to give value to receive value. Whatever form of value you give, you will likely receive the same or greater value in return but this will take time.
The second thing is to be grateful and always say thank you for both the big and the small favours. It will gratify your connections to know they helped make a difference which will only strengthen your relationship with them.
Finally, you need to always show good intentions. Your network contacts need to trust that you’re not trying to hit them up for a favour every time you reach out. You want to build a strong network by focusing on others.
