Today’s question comes from a listener who has grown his connections over the past few months and is looking for some tips on how to make his network as strong as possible.

You need to remember that networking doesn’t always produce immediate results and that it is a process that will take time of building meaningful and warm relationships that will allow you become the person you want to be.

To build the strongest network possible, you should start with these three steps. The first thing is to be purposeful. Don’t go straight in asking for favours, but rather get to know them first and find out how you can add value to them.

The second piece of advice is to connect on social media, which is a great way to follow up and connect regularly with your connections. Like their posts and add nice messages to show you care about them.

The final tip I would offer is to ask for introductions. Once you have built up a strong relationship with a person, ask them if they can put you in touch with someone they know. Introductions are one of the best ways to expand your network.
