Welcome to episode 67 of Ask Mark, where I answer your questions about personal development to help you become the best version of yourself.

From interviewing people from all walks of life on the What I Know Now podcast, I want to share with you what I have learned from my guests by answering any questions you have about personal development, networking and building meaningful relationships. The aim of Ask Mark is to help you achieve your goals sooner and stand on the shoulders of giants.

I would love to hear your questions so please head to wikn.co/askmark where you can either fill out the form or record your question for me. You can also drop me your questions in the comments box or on social media in the links below.

Now sit back, plug in those headphones and enjoy because it is time to learn together about personal development, networking, building meaningful relationships and much more.

In this episode of Ask Mark, I am going to help you by offering three pieces of advice on how you should prepare for a meeting with your contacts that you want to turn into long-term meaningful relationships.

Successful people will tell you that they treat every conversation almost like a job interview because every coffee and casual encounter with strangers is planting a seed for the vacancies of tomorrow.

The first piece of advice is to have a point. Shaping the conversation is your responsibility, so think about what you want to get out of the meeting and know what your goals are. The better prepared you are, the better impression you will make.

The second tip is to not be selfish. You should offer assistance that you think would be beneficial to them to make sure the supportive relationship is a two-way process. If you can add value to them, they are more likely to want to help you in return.

The third thing is to keep following up. Don’t just have one meeting and then just drop off the face of the earth. Keep in touch with them and share what progress you’re making. I guarantee that they will love to hear how they have helped.
