On Wednesday the 6th of December, I spoke at the International Organisations Career Development Roundtable Conference which this year was held at the historic Dublin Castle.
It was a fantastic experience and I really enjoyed speaking at the conference with representatives from the United Nations, the European Union, International Financial Institutions, the national public and private sector, and academia alongside a host of other globally influential organisations attending. The International Organisations Career Development Roundtable (CDR) event is the largest Human Resources event on the multilateral calendar, which takes place annually.
For 13 years, the CDR has been taking place annually in cities across the globe, bringing together organisations from across the multilateral sector to share innovative and effective HR practices, policies, tools and ideas. The theme of this year’s event was “Authoring Change: Careers, Culture, Building Trust.”
I spoke about the importance of developing a growth mindset and why the most successful companies in the world have a strong foundation of trust at their core. I referenced several examples of companies that have fostered a growth mindset, how to develop a growth mindset and shared some of the insights from Bob Lee’s excellent book Trust Rules.
