In this episode of Mark’s Daily Discoveries, I share with you three tips that I have learned to getting things done and help you have a more productive day.

The first piece of advice is to do a MindSweep, which comes from David Allen’s Getting Things Done. Write down all the things you want to do in life, figure out which are the most important and plan them out.

The second tip is to turn off your e-mails. When you’re repsonding to e-mails, you are working to other people’s agenda. Don’t get distracted. Turn off the notifications and focus on the work you set out to do.

The final piece of advice I have learned is to have a clear desk. Be clean and organised when you go to work in the morning and it will help you have a clear mind to focus on the work you need to get done.

One final piece of advice I would offer is that when you are doing tasks like washing up or cooking the dinner, listen to something productive in the background to help you learn as you go along.
