I spent the first half of my sales career selling stuff that people didn’t need so on this episode of Mark’s Daily Discoveries, I offer advice on how you can improve your sales performance.

That advice is to ask open questions and do your research to find out what people need. Find out what problems they have and create a solution to help them solve it.

Once you understand the problem that you are going to create a solution for, serve with massive overdelivery and generosity. If you can do that, you will be massively successful at sales.

Too many people don’t ask open questions or survey what their target audience needs but when I figured this out, my sales performance went up from 400-500%.

I think this method of understanding the problem you want to solve can be applicable to any part of life. If you are struggling with something, ask yourself how can I solve it and add massive value.
