On today’s episode of Mark’s Daily Discoveries, I share with you three simple techniques to help you become a better listener.

Only 25% of what you say to other people is genuinely listened to, but by using the following three steps you can become a better listener to make a good impression when meeting other people.

The first step is to understand what they are saying before you respond. Ask questions to learn more about what they are telling you about, so you have enough information on the subject before adding your views.

It is also important to let them finish their sentence. If you interupt them and turn around the conversation to be all about you, you are unlikely to make any friends that way.

You can learn so much from the stories other people have to tell you, so really listen to what they have to say. You might learn something new and people will appreciate you for being a good listener.
