On today’s episode of Mark’s Daily Discoveries, I offer advice as to why you should celebrate the small micro-wins on your way to achieving your bigger goals.

A lot of people think that nothing is worth celebrating until they reach their ultimate goal, but it should not be this way. You should not have to wait to be happy, so celebrate even the smallest of victories.

Celebrating the small wins that you achieve during the day or your week helps bridges the gap to help you stay motivated. It keeps you focused to keep taking action towards your bigger goals.

The second reason you should celebrate the small wins is that it builds resilience when you meet challenges along the way. Overcoming obstacles are small wins in themselves to celebrate.

When you feel you have achieved something, reward yourself. It could be having a glass of wine, going to a football match or going out with friends, whatever works for you. Have a reward for a job well done.
